ASSASSIN
The masked Assassin is feared throughout Northern Aldrathia. He often does the bidding of some of the more prestigious factions that don't want to sully their image, but just as frequently follows his own clandestine plans.
The Assassin is a figure spoken of in hushed tones throughout the underworld of thieves and mercenaries. His identity is lost beneath the cold, expressionless metal mask he wears, its engraved surface hiding any trace of humanity. No one knows what lies beneath it, but it has been suggested that multiple generations have passed on the role from father to son – a theory that might aid in explaining how the Assassin has been terrorizing the local taverns and inns for multiple centuries.
The Assassin hides in the shadows and acts with an element of surprise as he whips his serrated dagger at opponents with deadly accuracy. He has a deep understanding of the power of strength in numbers and frequently enlists less clever but menacing beasts to assist in his work.
Though his presence is feared in the criminal underworld and royal courts alike, no one has ever uncovered his true purpose. Unlike common thugs-for-hire, the Assassin does not take contracts for wealth or power. He chooses his victims with eerie precision, striking down kings, warlords, and even other assassins.
His mask, a relic of dark craftsmanship, is made of ancient metal with faint etchings of long-forgotten symbols. He wears no heavy armor, only a tattered cloak darkened by the stains of countless battles, blending into the night like a wraith.
