ELGERON

Khordon's pass is the only way to traverse the top of Mount Varconen to reach the mystical Ice Cavern. Its towering rock walls and narrow passage have been guarded by Elgeron for over 135 years. In that period, exactly 19 travelers have made it past her on the way up, of which only 7 have successfully returned passage.

Powered by enormous reptilian wings covered in scales of an unnatural shade of blue, Elgeron soars from rim to rim, surveying the surface for any sign of movement. Months go by with nothing to spot, as even the smallest of ice shrews knows well not to roam anywhere near the pass.

One of the strongest beasts in all of Aldrathia, Elgeron breathes a deadly freezing mist that can penetrate solid rock and inflict massive amounts of damage to anyone or anything that has the misfortune of coming into her path.

Those few who have glimpsed Elgeron and lived rarely speak of the monstrous serpent and take whatever measures necessary to erase her memory from their minds. Elgeron does not hoard gold or jewels. Her treasure is victory and she revels in the fear of those who dare approach her domain.
