Dark Tomb - Ice Chasers Portrait

ICE CHASERS

At the summit of Mount Varconen lies an enormous cavern formed from ancient ice, which is said to be the home of two Ice Chasers – duel nightmares of the frozen peak.

The gruesome tales of the two beasts are so prevalent throughout the Grange Mountain valley that most believe the beings to be mere folklore. Unfortunately for the limited few who have chanced exploration of Mount Varconen, the Ice Chasers are very real.

Eleven hundred years ago, there were slews of Chasers across Northern Aldrathia, but in these times only the two distant cousins remain in the area. They hunt with the ferocity and ruthlessness of untamed beasts, but possess the intellect of scholars and communicate through a highly intricate language that resembles none other.

The Ice Chasers are cunning and methodical hunters that thrive in the long, cruel nights of endless winter. They stalk the outlet of Khordon's pass, waiting for unsuspecting travelers to lose their way before striking, their steps so light they leave no trace in the snow.

Together, they rule the icy heights. Their massive bodies are covered in thick, dirty white fur that blends seamlessly into the endless permafrost, and their eyes burn with an unnatural icy glow. But their most fearsome trait is their massive fangs, sharp enough to pierce stone and cold enough to freeze flesh on contact.
